Octagonal Blender Working Principle


The octagonal blender is a well-organized and adaptable amalgamation mechanism for mixing and lubrication method of dry granule consistently. Two third of the quantity of the pharmaceutical octagonal blender is filled to make good mixing. The octagonal mixer gives best effect for granule owing to very slow speed and octagon shape of container. It can be used for cosmetic products, chemical pharmaceutical, and food etc. In octagon shape blender, granules comes from all sides owing to the octagonal shape of the product container, hence obligation of rpm is fewer The pharmaceutical octagonal mixer is appropriate mostly for crystalline and granular type material. This sort of material gets enough constant progress owing to their shape if container has only slow development and will results in high-quality of blending / lubrication of granules.

Design and feature

  • Octagonal blender is used for gentle blending of dry powders / granules. The Blending takes place at low to medium speed during operation, depending on process requirement. The Octagonal blender (10 Kg – 10000 Kgs) consists of an octagonal shaped blending vessel with Rectangular lid for material charging and butterfly valve in discharge for material discharge. Octagonal blender has adjustable baffles provided. All contact parts made from SS 316 and Non-contact part made from SS 304.Gasket made from food grade silicone material. All internal and external surface of octagonal blender is mirror finished.
  • The general arrangement of Octagonal blender has a drive unit consisting of a Motor, Gear box and sprocket chain arrangement mounted in ‘A’ – shaped frame with S.S. Covers. All functions of the equipment are controlled and governed by switch provided or HMI. The blender drive unit has been provided with electrical interlock with octagonal blender area entry by means of lever safety bar with proxy switch. This interlock shall prevent the operation of blender if the lever safety bar entry is open.


  • Material managing in Octagonal Blender mixer is through Bin charging or a Vacuum charging arrangement.
  • Bin charging arrangement ensures grime free closed system for Charging and Discharging of result.
  • Slow speed mixer with gentle amalgamation of Dry granule.
  • Optional in built in space intend. No external PTS necessary.
  • The baffles are eliminating with amalgamation profile analysis obtainable.
  • Pneumatically actuate valves for dust free transfers.
  • Bins with Level sensory for automatic cut off.
